Capital Improvement Costs
When developing the Long Range Facility Plan, the district asked BYSP Architects to perform a faciity study on all of WFISD's existing buildings. The study evaluated what the cost would be to bring all facilities to a 2008 standard - the year the district's two newest elementary schools, Southern Hills and Scotland Park, were built. The study found that it would cost $170,750,671 to bring all of the schools to a 12-year-old (2008) standard over the next ten years.
The capital improvement costs included new roofs, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical systems. The costs did not include remodeling, new classroom spaces, furniture, beautification, etc.
